The Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005 is one of the primary pieces of legislation that guide the work of child protection social workers in South Africa. Again, you might not always have time to carefully study this thick piece of legislation, or to stay up to date with new amendments or regulations.

Sometimes what a specific Section means might be difficult to understand or apply. When you ‘enter’ the Cave, the moonlight will hopefully illuminate some parts of this piece of legislation and help you better understand and apply what is legally expected of you; you will also be kept up to date with regulations, forms and amendments.
